I am the selfish moonlight
That sneaks in
Through your unguarded window
Caresses your still form
Your demanding skin
With quiet devotion
I am the longing moonlight
That dances aimlessly
Across your
Sensitive pathways and
Slumbering hills
Leaving a trail of
Anonymous kisses
Trembling on your shore
And when the innocent sun
Wakes up to paint your canvas
With rosy reds and silky scenery
I retreat to my hiding place
Until the darkness falls

Update:
I’m sorry for the long delay in posting. I’ve been either too busy or too inspired to write. :)) I have lots of drafts waiting to be finished though. After receiving an email from a devoted reader, I decided to post something. I’ll try to post another poem soon.
Hope you all have a beautiful, inspiring and productive week!
Love, light, and laughter!
– Noora
Princess of darkness
Have courage to come in the sunlight
Moon is just a reflection of its master
Has nothing of its own,
In an early morn,
I will see you glowing
Sun making your skin glitter
With passion so pure,
Am I sure, yes my dear
Very very sure.
Throne awaits you.

Karen, IF I remember correctly, it was YOU who sent me a masterpiece and called it a “rough rough draft”! hhhhhmmmmm to you too :)))) I can’t wait to write a duet with you.

:))) lol! I probably should have listened to you because I think the rough draft so called “masterpiece” is getting over-cooked, and should have been done a while ago. And the duet….can we do it in Moonlight, because otherwise it could be too dark outside…:)) For me anyway…:)) .

This is so beautiful. I love how you paint the moon as an anonymous, secret lover — and somehow make it romantic instead of alarming! Wonderful work.

This is beautiful dear Noora… The second stanza is my favorite… Hence I enjoyed the way you linked the moon and the sun in the last stanza… It makes me think of a sort of game of opposites and a possible union later on!…You are an amazing poet… ❤ ~ Sending you all my best wishes!. Aquileana 😀
