In celebration of my blog’s 3rd anniversary, I decided to re-blog my most viewed poem, which happens to be Afterglow. To comment or “like” the poem – please click on “view original”, thank you! Inspiration, love & good madness. – Noora

In the afterglow
Lying here
In our memories

How it felt to be
An inspiration
For your
Creative fingertips

How I melted
Like soft clay
In the hands
Of a dedicated sculptor
As you made me
Your secret masterpiece

And yours alone
I still am
In the afterglow
Of our love

How it felt
To unfold you
With my love
One layer at a time

How my hopeful lips
Stole your breath
And made it ours
In the kiss
Of truths
And expectations

And still tonight
I breathe our love
When I escape to the place
Where yesterday’s spark
Still flames
Where unwritten poems
Sensuously moan
Where you stay
With me

In the afterglow

  1. Noora … Just realised I should have asked your permission to share your beautiful words with others who may not have come across you sooner..So often when I read your words my heart aches and I am moved to tears … thank you Noora

    1. Hey Ali, long time no see! I hope all is good in your world. Thanks for stopping by again and thank you deeply for the touching feedback. Please, feel free to share my work – it’d be an honor. All I ask for is a link back to my blog! 🙂 Love & light, – Noora

      1. My friend, I must ask, May I dedicate this to the love of my life, Matthew? I felt as though every word you wrote described what I would voice to him. I will await your response before re-blogging and will not be offended if you prefer I didn’t dedicate it.

        1. Belinda, I’m SO glad to know that you FELT my words and want to dedicate the post/poem to the love of your life – that IS the biggest compliment a poet can get. 🙂 Please, feel free to dedicate it to Matthew. Love and smiles to you both!

    1. Thank you SO much for this wonderful and encouraging comment, Deborah. I’m sorry it has taken a while to reply. My blogging break took a little longer than I thought it would. Have a lovely week!
