Perfectly Still

Perfectly Still

The day
Refuses to die
Evening birds
Quietly comfort
The wordless sky

Bittersweet concerto
Inspires me
To write
My own
But some poems
Are better left
Unwritten

The day
Refuses to die
Raindrops lie
On sleepy flowers
Perfectly still
Like sorrow
Almost forgotten

Invitation

It’s reblog Sunday, right? I’m hoping to post a new poem next week. Now I’m off to enjoy your poems and other posts! P.S. Please, click on “view original” – thank you!!! 🙂

Come
Walk with me
Where wildflowers bloom

Lie beside me
Beneath the irresistible sky
Point out
The constellations
You wish to fly to
I will take you there

The star chart is printed
On your skin
I will trace
My fingertips
Intimately
Across the beauty
I read like braille

Pausing

At the loveliest places
In order to forget
The world
But never you

Love,
Until the wildflowers
Begin to wither
In summer’s farewell

Come
Walk with me
Where all our journeys end
